Cosme or Parīlio: Which Paros Hotel Is Right for You?

Paros' two best design hotels are ten minutes apart and nothing alike. Here's how I decide between them.

I toured both of these hotels on the same trip, back to back, and I still get asked to choose between them more than any other pair in Greece. The honest answer is that they solve different problems — and once you know which problem is yours, the decision takes about thirty seconds.

Both are part of the same group. Both are genuinely excellent. Neither is the obvious default, which is exactly why this comes up so often.

Choose Cosme

If you want to walk into town for dinner, sit on an actual beach during the day, and not think about a car once.

Choose Parīlio

If you want quiet, architecture, and a private pool you'll actually spend the afternoon in.

Cosme

Naousa at your doorstep

Many luxury hotels in Paros ask you to choose between staying on the beach or staying near Naousa. Cosme gives you both. Just outside town, it combines a true beachfront setting with easy walking access to some of the island's best restaurants, bars, and boutiques.

Room I'd Book Cosmos SuiteThe standout choice for travelers who want Cosme at its very best.
Keith's Notes

Don't overlook the entry-level rooms. They're among the largest standard accommodations I toured anywhere on Paros, making the starting rate easier to justify.

Choose your suite based on your travel style. The Cosmos Suite is the hotel's showpiece, but I actually preferred the Enastro Suite for travelers who value a little more privacy.

Walk into Naousa for dinner. One of Cosme's biggest advantages is being able to leave the car behind and enjoy the town on foot.

Keith's Take

Cosme solves one of Paros' biggest compromises. For travelers who want the energy of Naousa without giving up the feel of a true beachfront resort, it's one of the smartest choices on Paros.

Parīlio

Paros' design icon

Parīlio helped redefine luxury on Paros. Contemporary Cycladic architecture, calming interiors, and exceptional hospitality create a hotel that feels effortlessly sophisticated. Just minutes from Naousa, it's the perfect balance between peaceful retreat and vibrant island life.

Room I'd Book Sun Suite with Private PoolA spacious indoor-outdoor retreat that perfectly captures Parīlio's relaxed design philosophy.
Keith's Notes

Reserve a pool suite. The generous outdoor space is part of what makes Parīlio so memorable.

Enjoy a beach day at Cosme. Parīlio guests receive complimentary sunbeds at its sister property just outside Naousa — which quietly means you don't have to choose.

Pair quiet mornings with lively evenings. Spend your days at the hotel before heading into Naousa for dinner.

Keith's Take

Parīlio is one of those hotels that's easy to recommend. It captures everything people love about Paros — relaxed luxury, beautiful design, and an atmosphere that never feels overly polished or performative.

Which Is Better for a Honeymoon?

Parīlio, most of the time — specifically a Sun Suite with a private pool. The privacy is the point of a honeymoon, and the outdoor space means you can spend an entire afternoon without seeing anyone. But if the version of the trip you're picturing involves walking to dinner and staying out afterward, Cosme is the better fit, and you'll use the location every single evening.

Still deciding? Tell me your dates and I'll tell you which one has the room worth having — and add breakfast, a property credit, or an upgrade at check-in where I can. It's the same rate you'd pay booking direct.

Get In Touch

Getting There — and Between Islands

Paros is easy to reach and easy to get wrong. A few rules I give every client:

  1. Never book the last ferry of the day. If it's cancelled, you've lost a night.
  2. Fast ferries cancel in wind; slow ones usually don't. In shoulder season, take the slow boat — and pack motion sickness patches either way.
  3. Don't fly home the same day you sail. Give yourself a night in Athens.
  4. Two islands per week. Three is a travel day disguised as a vacation.

If you'd rather skip the boat entirely, private transfers are the thing I get asked to arrange most — a private boat between islands, or a helicopter direct. It turns a lost travel day into a morning. See the full Greek Ferry Rules →

Erēma, Milos
There's a Third Option

Erēma, Milos

The same group opened Erēma on Milos — the newest of the three, and the one nobody has posted to death yet. If you can't choose between Cosme and Parīlio, the better question is whether you should be doing two islands instead of one. Paros then Milos is the trip I'd actually book. A private boat or helicopter between the two takes the hard part out of it.
