Seven new Greek addresses I’m actually excited about

There’s a lot opening in Greece right now. Paros already has real luxury inventory; what I’m tracking most closely is Milos catching up, with Eréma and Onero arriving in the same season. And then there’s Amorgos, an island almost nobody has on their list, getting a hotel that finally matches the setting.

By KeithSeptember 20267 hotels · 5 islands
Onero Milos — terraced suites above the sea at dusk
The short list
In the order I’d book them
Eréma Milos — suite exterior in volcanic stone
01Milos

Eréma, Milos

Empiria Group’s first move onto Milos, and the hotel that made me start saying Milos has arrived. Set above Provatas on the quiet southeastern coast, it’s all-suite and all private-pool, with two restaurants under chef Yiannis Kioroglou and a design that reads volcanic stone and marble rather than whitewash. Ten minutes from the airport.

OpensOpen · June 2026
Keys41 suites, each with a private pool
Best forCouples, design-led honeymoons
What I can secure Design Hotels partner rates, breakfast, and an upgrade request at check-in where the house allows.
Onero Milos — Eos pool suite
02Milos

Onero, Milos

The other half of the Milos story, and it opened just this week. Onero steps down three terraced levels on the Parasporos hillside, every room facing the water, five minutes from the port of Adamas. Suites are compact but almost all come with a private pool or whirlpool; the real draw is the three- and four-bedroom villas, which is inventory Milos simply didn’t have before.

OpensOpened · 9 Sept 2026
Keys31 suites & villas, up to four bedrooms
Best forFamilies and friends travelling together
What I can secure Villa-level amenities and a dedicated point of contact for group bookings; ask me about shoulder-season value.
Amorgina — the bay of Nikouria, Amorgos
03Amorgos

Amorgina, Amorgos

This is the one I’m most personally excited about. Amorgos is where The Big Blue was filmed; it’s steep, wild, and until now had nowhere at this level to stay. Amorgina sits at Agios Pavlos in a bay sheltered from the meltemi, looking straight at the uninhabited islet of Nikouria. Sixteen suites, a kitchen led by Babis Kountouris rooted in the island’s own producers.

OpensOpen · July 2026

Best forSecond-timers who want an island nobody talks about
What I can secure Small house, so it comes down to relationship: I can usually arrange the best-positioned suites and a welcome from the owners.
Rosewood Blue Palace — arches over the pool, Elounda, Crete
04Crete · Elounda

Rosewood Blue Palace, Crete

Rosewood’s first hotel in Greece, now estimated for summer 2027: a full reimagining of the old Blue Palace on the hillside between Plaka and Elounda, looking across to Spinalonga. K-Studio on the architecture, Afroditi Krassa on interiors, six restaurants and bars, a private beach and an Asaya spa. The one property on this list where you can genuinely never leave.

OpensSummer 2027 (est.)
Keys154 rooms & suites, 85 with private pools
Best forHoneymooners who want a full resort
What I can secure Rosewood Elite: upgrade on arrival when available, daily breakfast for two, a $100 hotel credit, and early check-in / late check-out.
Luura Cliff — suite terrace facing the sunset, Paros
05Paros

Luura Cliff, Paros

A brand-new Mediterranean brand making its debut on Paros’s western coast at Agia Eirini, run under Morgans Originals. Whitewashed village forms by Elastic Architects, interiors by Lambs and Lions, serious contemporary art on the walls, and Mimi Kakushi’s Japanese restaurant on the cliff. West-facing, so every suite gets the sunset.

OpensOpen · August 2026
Keys39 suites, 19 with private pools · adults only 12+
Best forCouples, weddings, full buyouts
What I can secure Preferred-partner rates with breakfast and a food-and-beverage credit; the private chapel makes this my new Paros wedding recommendation.
Kensho Paros — pool pavilion at dusk
06Paros

Kensho, Paros

The Kensho sensibility from Mykonos — clean lines, stone, a near-meditative quiet — moved to a beachfront position on Paros. Suites and signature residences with heated private pools, a holistic spa, and the beach directly below. The hotel itself is now saying spring 2027, so this is the one to plan for next year rather than this.

OpensSpring 2027
KeysSuites & residences, selected with private heated pools
Best forThose who loved Kensho in Mykonos
What I can secure Opening-season offers tend to be generous; I’ll hold dates for you the moment inventory releases.
Hymnos Zakynthos — travertine pavilions among olive trees
07Zakynthos · Ionian

Hymnos, Zakynthos

The one Ionian entry, and a change of register: olive groves, limewash and travertine, water that goes from turquoise to sapphire. Hymnos is Marriott’s Luxury Collection arriving on Zakynthos, built around the island’s poets and sailors rather than a beach club. Ninety-four rooms and suites, sea-facing terraces, a wellness programme drawn from Greek tradition. Still early renderings, but the direction is exactly right.

Opens2026 (Luxury Collection)
Keys94 rooms & suites with private terraces and pools
Best forAnyone ready to leave the Cyclades behind
What I can secure Marriott STARS: upgrade on arrival when available, breakfast for two, a $100 property credit, and early check-in / late check-out.
