Set within its own working vineyard in Calistoga — consistently excellent, and the rare wine country hotel that fits almost everyone.
I've stayed at Four Seasons Napa Valley four or five times now, and since they've worked out the early kinks, I think they've earned the #02 spot in my Napa & Sonoma ranking.
Architecturally the hotel is beautiful, with a mix of dark, moody rooms and bright white farmhouse styles set within the vineyards. The pools are gorgeous, the one-star Michelin restaurant is fantastic, and I love the pool bar.
What actually separates it from the property just below it on my list is simpler: service at genuine Four Seasons standard, applied to a resort that fits families, couples, girls trips, and multi-couple groups equally well.
Service at Four Seasons standard. Genuinely what separates it from the hotels below it — consistent across every stay I've had.
A Michelin star on property. The one-star restaurant is fantastic, and the pool bar is a favorite in its own right.
The architecture. Dark moody rooms or bright white farmhouse styles, set within a working vineyard.
It fits almost everyone. Families, couples, girls trips, and groups all genuinely work here — rare at this level.
Request an upper floor if shower privacy matters. Some ground-floor outdoor showers face the pathways — easily handled at booking; just tell me.
Calistoga is the far end of the valley. Beautiful, quieter, and a longer drive from the southern wineries — plan tastings accordingly.
Watch for the free-night offers. Third or fourth night free shows up through preferred partner channels — it changes the math on longer stays.
It's a great property that lends itself to a large swath of people.
Rates through me are identical to booking direct — the perks are not. Four Seasons Napa Valley is a Fora / Virtuoso preferred partner, and booking through me sometimes includes a third or fourth night free on top of standard amenities like breakfast and upgrade priority.
