The review

The family standby — two beaches, two golf courses, and the kind of consistency that makes multigenerational trips easy.

Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita is the family standby on my Mexico shortlist — two beaches, two golf courses, and the kind of consistency that makes multigenerational trips easy. On a coast full of statement resorts, this is the one engineered for everyone at once.

The Punta Mita peninsula delivers the Riviera Nayarit formula — lush, quiet polish instead of Cabo's drama — and the Four Seasons here has had decades to perfect the family version of it: surf mornings on gentle breaks, golf for the players, and beaches calm enough for every age.

It's also one of the properties where my Four Seasons preferred partnership matters most in practice: multigenerational trips involve many rooms, many requests, and many moving parts, and having the brand relationship behind the file changes how those get handled.

What stood out

The details that made the list

01
Two beaches, two golf courses. The raw inventory that lets a big group split up all day and reunite at dinner.
02
The consistency. The Four Seasons trait I lean on hardest when three generations share one itinerary.
03
Surf mornings at Punta Mita. Private coaching on gentle breaks, back in time for lunch — the signature experience I attach here.

The Fine Print, From Your Advisor

01
The standby, not the statement. Design-first couples will be more excited by Mandarina up the coast — this property's genius is dependability.
02
Same peninsula, quieter neighbor. The St. Regis Punta Mita is the more residential, butler-serviced base nearby — ask me which fits your group.
03
Whale season applies here too. December through April, humpbacks calve in these waters — a private boat beats the crowds every time.
