Sonoma's hidden gem — walk to the plaza, skip the designated driver, and pay less than the marquee names.
I love MacArthur Place and think it's such a hidden gem in Sonoma. It's right next to downtown, so you can walk or bike into town, the design is beautiful, prices are reasonable, and the pool just finished an extensive remodel.
The location advantage is bigger than it sounds: it's the easiest walk to town on my entire Napa & Sonoma list, which means nobody worries about driving back after a few glasses of wine.
Downtown Sonoma itself is a big part of the draw — quaint, local, and less commercialized than Healdsburg, with easy access to Glen Ellen. And it's just an easy getaway from San Francisco.
The easiest walk to town on my list. Wine-taste all afternoon and stroll home — no designated driver required.
The design. A beautiful garden-estate feel that punches above its rate.
The freshly remodeled pool. Just finished an extensive renovation — the property's newest asset.
Downtown Sonoma. Quaint, local, and less commercialized than Healdsburg, with Glen Ellen close by.
Wellness is modest here. The draw is the gardens, the remodeled pool, and the town — if a destination spa is central to your trip, I'd build that in elsewhere.
It's a boutique, not a resort. Fewer facilities than the marquee names — the town is your amenity.
Best as a second-trip base. Ideal for returning visitors who've done the Napa marquee circuit and want walkable, local wine country.
A great option for return visitors who'd rather not drive back to their hotel every night.
Rates through me are identical to booking direct — the perks are not. MacArthur Place is a Fora / Virtuoso preferred partner, and booking through me includes preferred partner amenities like breakfast, property credits, and upgrade priority where available.
