Not a hotel so much as someone's impossibly beautiful estate — and one of the most romantic front porches in Sonoma County.
Madrona Manor feels completely different from every other hotel on my Napa & Sonoma list — more like staying at someone's incredibly beautiful estate than a traditional luxury hotel.
The design by Jay Jeffers is stunning, and sitting on the front porch with a glass of wine overlooking the vineyards is one of my favorite experiences anywhere in Sonoma County.
The trade-offs are real but simple: there's no spa, the pool is underwhelming, and this is emphatically a couples property — I wouldn't recommend it for families. For a romantic weekend, none of that matters.
The Jay Jeffers design. A stunning estate restoration — every room feels collected rather than specified.
The front porch. A glass of wine overlooking the vineyards from that porch is one of my favorite moments in Sonoma County.
The estate feel. You're a houseguest, not a room number — completely different energy from every resort on this list.
E-bikes to Healdsburg Plaza. Just a few minutes away, while the property itself stays perfectly peaceful.
No spa, and the pool is underwhelming. The main drawbacks on an otherwise special property — build your trip around the estate, not the facilities.
This is a couples property. I wouldn't recommend it for families — and that's precisely its charm.
An estate has estate quirks. Historic buildings mean character over uniformity — ask me which rooms suit you.
An easy recommendation for a romantic weekend with beautiful design and one of the most charming atmospheres in wine country.
Rates through me are identical to booking direct — the perks are not. Madrona is a Fora / Virtuoso preferred partner, and booking through me includes preferred partner amenities like breakfast, property credits, and upgrade priority where available.
