The review

Not a hotel so much as someone's impossibly beautiful estate — and one of the most romantic front porches in Sonoma County.

Madrona Manor feels completely different from every other hotel on my Napa & Sonoma list — more like staying at someone's incredibly beautiful estate than a traditional luxury hotel.

The design by Jay Jeffers is stunning, and sitting on the front porch with a glass of wine overlooking the vineyards is one of my favorite experiences anywhere in Sonoma County.

The trade-offs are real but simple: there's no spa, the pool is underwhelming, and this is emphatically a couples property — I wouldn't recommend it for families. For a romantic weekend, none of that matters.
