A storied caldera perch with the Empiria Group behind it — and my top Marriott Bonvoy play on Santorini while it awaits its next chapter.

Mystique didn't connect with me the way the top of my list did — which genuinely surprised me, given how much I love the Empiria Group team behind some of the best hotels in the Cyclades.

The rooms offer limited privacy, and the minimalist interiors read sparse to me — a setting this special deserves finishes to match. The signature earthy cave rooms also run dark and quiet: atmospheric for some travelers, austere for others.

Here's useful context: I was told 35–45% of stays are Marriott Bonvoy redemptions, which makes this one of the highest-value points plays on the caldera. The bones and the location are genuinely good — with updated interiors, this property competes at the very top of the island.
