Miramalfi Review — Amalfi, Italy

When I put together my ranking of the world's most jaw-dropping hotel pools, the #1 spot didn't go to a marquee palace or a private island — it went to Miramalfi. The pool is carved into the cliffside itself, facing the full sweep of the Amalfi coastline, and nothing else I've ranked delivers that swim.

That's the reason it's on my list: you descend the cliff, the coast opens up in front of you, and you're swimming in a pool cut from the rock with the Tyrrhenian directly below. It's the kind of setting that makes the entire trip about a single afternoon.

Miramalfi also sits in Amalfi town proper rather than Positano, which my clients often find is the smarter base — the same coastline, a real town at your back, and typically friendlier rates than the Positano icons a few bends up the road.
