The classic, done properly. For me, one of the two best options in Positano, alongside Villa Treville.
The rooms are impeccably kept, and every one has a sea view. The look is nautical: lots of blues and whites, tiles, bright rooms. Honestly, the base rooms are fantastic, but if you want more space, the Signature and Prestige rooms are the way to go.
The way the hotel is positioned on the cliff means some rooms get sunrise views and others get sunset views. Make sure you tell me which you prefer, because sunsets are hard to find on the Amalfi Coast.
The beach club is on the sunset side too, which is a huge selling point. Many other properties in the area, like Borgo Santandrea, Santa Caterina and Miramalfi, get dark fairly early. In the summer heat that may be less of a problem, but in the fall, when it is best to visit, your time to swim ends around 4:30 or 5pm at most hotels. Not here.
The tennis court is iconic, of course. The rooms are private in that no one can look down on you. People can look up toward your room, but the entire property is very, very private, so you will only see other guests. There are a lot of inclusions as well, from a complimentary 2-hour yacht cruise to cooking and pizza classes, a daily cocktail masterclass, and Pilates and yoga.
And it sits right outside crazy-busy Positano, which for me is a major selling point. Free boat and car shuttles take you into town whenever you want the scene.

Because of how the hotel sits on the cliff, some rooms face the sunrise and others face the sunset. Every room has a sea view. Sunsets are hard to find on the Amalfi Coast, so if that matters to you, tell me and I will request the sunset side.
