Minos Beach is older in the best sense — established, shaded, unhurried, and unlike anywhere else on the island. Agios Nikolaos is under a mile away on foot, a genuine rarity for a resort of this kind, and worth using for the harbourfront tavernas.
Minos Palace occupies a piece of geography no new hotel will ever get again — and it’s the best value on my Crete shortlist. Quiet, surrounded by water, the definition of an easy recommendation.
