Folegandros · Visited Gundari
Two cliff-front villas with three and four bedrooms, 60 m² private pools and nothing between you and the horizon, on the island that filters its own crowd.
Gundari is a dark stone lodge on the cliff’s edge of Folegandros, and it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The villas are the way to bring a family or a group.
You get picked up at the port or the heliport, and after a short drive and eight to ten minutes on a dirt road toward the cliff’s edge, the building appears, blending into the horizon. Every design detail was clearly thought through, down to the outdoor showers overlooking the Aegean, and the team responds to anything my clients flag with genuine gratitude and speed.
There are two Cliff Front Villas. Each has king bedrooms with their own bathrooms and indoor and outdoor showers, a kitchen, a lower floor, and a huge terrace with a 60 m² private pool, a jetted tub, an outdoor kitchen and a dining area, all facing the sea. They have no age restriction, which matters here: the main pool is for ages 12 and up, so the villa pool is where younger kids swim.

I know the property and the team, so I’ll tell you which villa fits, whether one of their packages beats a flexible rate for your dates, and arrange the chef, groceries and boat days before you land. My clients receive Fora perks on eligible stays, and rates are identical to booking direct.
The two Cliff Front Villas at Gundari. I’ve visited Gundari, and it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen: a dark stone lodge on the cliff’s edge. The villas give you three or four bedrooms, a 60 m² private pool and a dramatic cliff-front sea view, with the whole resort a short walk away.
The Four-Bedroom Villa sleeps up to 10 (a maximum of 8 adults and 2 children), and the Three-Bedroom Villa sleeps up to 8 (a maximum of 6 adults and 2 children).
Yes, the villas have no age restriction. The main hotel pool is for ages 12 and up, but younger children have the villa’s own 60 m² private pool, which is a big part of why the villas are the way to bring a family to Gundari.
Yes, three nights for the villas. That’s what I’d recommend for Gundari and Folegandros anyway.
Villa guests can use all the hotel’s facilities and services, including the 25-meter main pool, Orizon restaurant, the gym and the spa. Transfers between the port or heliport and the villa are complimentary, and so is the shuttle into Chora. A private chef and grocery shopping are available on request, at an extra charge.
Yes. The Wellness Haven package (three-night minimum) adds daily breakfast and discounts on the stay, spa treatments and Orizon, plus morning yoga. The Folegandros Experience package (five-night minimum) adds daily breakfast, a private four-hour boat tour of the island’s beaches and coastline, and a discount on the stay. Both are prepaid and non-refundable, so ask me whether a package or a flexible rate makes more sense for your trip.
There’s no airport, so it’s a ferry, a private boat or a helicopter. I arrange private boat transfers from Santorini, about 45 minutes, or a helicopter to the heliport, and Gundari’s transfer takes it from there.
Tell me your dates, who’s coming and the kids’ ages. I’ll check both villas and plan the crossing and the rest of the islands around them.
