For a honeymoon, an anniversary, or any trip where the hotel is the celebration: Meadowood. Every time I go, I feel well taken care of — the service, the cottages, and the sense of place are why it’s the property I measure every other Napa stay against.
For everything else — the family trip, the girls trip, the four-couple harvest weekend — Four Seasons is the rare wine-country hotel that genuinely fits all of them, and the Michelin star and pool scene don’t hurt. Both are at the top of my list for a reason; the group decides this one, not the hotels.
