Head-to-head · Venice
Both look straight at San Marco from opposite sides of the water. The Danieli puts you on the Riva next to the Doge’s Palace; Airelles Palladio is a garden estate with pools on Giudecca, five minutes across by boat.
Toured both · October 2026
Gardens, an outdoor pool, a three-story spa, four restaurants and four bars, with calm to come home to. The most beautiful hotel I have seen in Italy.
My Airelles Palladio review →
A showstopping Gothic lobby, the rooftop restaurant with one of the great views in Venice, and St. Mark’s at your door.

I toured both on the same day in October 2026. I liked the Danieli and think it is a great option, but for me the edge goes to Airelles did.
Airelles gives you more: pools, a real spa, gardens and four restaurants, with St. Mark’s five minutes away when you want it. It is the better choice for families and for anyone who wants calm in a very busy city.
Book the Danieli if being at San Marco is the point. The lobby is a showstopper, the rooftop restaurant is spectacular, and a bigger hotel means better odds of an upgrade.

The two hotels face each other across the basin. From the Danieli’s roof you look over the Salute and the lagoon; from Airelles you look back at San Marco and the Doge’s Palace.
Either way you get the postcard. The difference is whether the crowds are under your window or across the water.

The Danieli’s Gothic atrium is the great see-and-be-seen room in Venice, and worth a drink even if you stay elsewhere.
At Airelles the showpiece is outside: nearly a hectare of walled gardens, lawns and the long outdoor pool.
For most travelers, Airelles Palladio. It has pools, a three-story spa, gardens and four restaurants, five minutes by boat from St. Mark’s. Choose the Danieli if you want to be at San Marco, with its famous lobby and rooftop restaurant.

Yes. It reopened as the Danieli, A Four Seasons Hotel, in July 2026.
Yes. Have a drink in the Gothic lobby or book dinner at Terrazza Danieli on the roof for one of the great views in Venice.
Tell me your dates and who is coming, and I will tell you which one fits and which room to ask for.
