Complete privacy doesn’t exist anywhere on the caldera — Canaves just does a particularly good job with it. And if the River Pool Suite is available for your dates, stop deliberating.
Right now, Canaves Oia Suites is the classic Santorini caldera experience, perfected — I’d be hard pressed to recommend any other hotel first to someone who wants exactly that. The renovation, the privacy, and the spa put it a clear tier above, and the rate gap between the two is roughly the $100–$200 a night I’d call the best-spent money on the island.
But Katikies holds locations that could compete with anything on Santorini, and the moment a refresh lands I’ll be first in line to re-review. Until then: loyalists and points-of-view aside, my booking advice follows the ranking. Tell me your dates and I’ll price both.
