Head-to-head · Amalfi Coast
Two hotels that make a statement. One is the lively icon in the middle of Positano; the other is very modern, above Conca dei Marini, with a proper beach. Here is how I would choose.
Stayed at Le Sirenuse · Toured Borgo Santandrea · October 2026
Lively, formal and right in the middle of town. Stunning art, the lookout over the dome and an out-of-this-world breakfast.
My Le Sirenuse review →
Spectacular and very modern, above Conca dei Marini, with a beautiful, massive, proper beach, fantastic dining at Alici and refined but warm service.
My Borgo Santandrea review →
| Le Sirenuse | Borgo Santandrea | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | Right in the middle of Positano | Above Conca dei Marini, just along the coast from Amalfi |
| The feel | Lively and formal: stunning art, see and be seen | Very modern, in the rooms and in the facilities |
| Service | Very formal | Refined but warm |
| Rooms | Only the true sea-view rooms; others face the courtyard or a loud pool | Very modern; the private pool rooms are not that private |

| Beach club | New, with complimentary boats at 10:30 and 12:30 | A beautiful, massive, proper beach; the sun leaves the water early |
| Don’t miss | The out-of-this-world breakfast and the lookout over the dome | The beach, and dinner at Alici |

| Best for | Walking into town, the scene | A modern, spectacular statement and a real beach |
Work with me and you get Fora perks, plus someone who knows these hotels personally and personalizes your stay: I secure a true sea view at Le Sirenuse, steer you away from the overlooked pool rooms at Borgo Santandrea, and arrange the boats and transfers. Same rate as booking direct.
Le Sirenuse is a really cool, lively property in the middle of Positano. You come to see and be seen, and you walk out the door into town.
Borgo Santandrea is on the quieter side of the coast, above Conca dei Marini. It is very modern, and that makes it feel different from every other hotel on the Amalfi Coast. The beach is the star.
If you want the energy of Positano at the door, pick Le Sirenuse. If you want a modern statement and a proper beach, pick Borgo Santandrea.

At Le Sirenuse, I would only stay in a true sea-view room or suite. The rest either have courtyard views, or the pool view is right on top of the pool, and it is loud. The sea-view rooms go first, often close to a year out for peak weeks.
At Borgo Santandrea, everything is very modern. I would think twice about a room with a private pool: they are not that private, and you can look down on your neighbors, and they can look down on you.

Le Sirenuse has the rooftop pool, #02 on my worldwide pools list, and a new beach club with complimentary boats at 10:30 and 12:30.
Borgo Santandrea has a beautiful, massive, proper beach. The sun leaves the water early, so in the fall your swim time ends around 4:30 or 5pm. Come in May to June, or September.

Service at Le Sirenuse is very formal. The artwork is stunning, the lookout over the dome is truly stunning, and the breakfast is out of this world.
At Borgo Santandrea, service is refined but warm, and dinner at Alici is fantastic.

Le Sirenuse is right in the middle of Positano. That is either a selling point or a sore point, depending on who you are.
Borgo Santandrea is above Conca dei Marini, just along the coast from Amalfi, and this side is quieter. I can split the stay: a few nights on the quiet side, then the scene in Positano.
They suit different trips. Pick Le Sirenuse to walk into Positano and be part of the scene. Pick Borgo Santandrea for a modern, spectacular statement on the quieter side of the coast, with a proper beach.
Le Sirenuse has the rooftop pool, #02 on my worldwide pools list. Borgo Santandrea has the better beach: beautiful, massive and a proper beach.
At Le Sirenuse, only a true sea-view room or suite. At Borgo Santandrea, ask me first, and think twice about the private pool rooms, which are overlooked.
For Borgo Santandrea, May to June, or September. In the fall, the sun leaves its water early, and your swim time ends around 4:30 or 5pm.
Yes. A few nights on the quiet side above Conca dei Marini, then a few in the middle of Positano, gives you both sides of the coast. I arrange the transfers between them.
Tell me your dates and who is coming, and I will tell you which one fits and which room to ask for.
